The Cosmebio label guarantees ingredient content and product traceability throughout the manufacturing process. It also points to our ethics commitments and compliance with Cosmebio formulation charter standards:

at least 95% of the ingredients are completely natural;
at least 95% of the vegetal ingredients are organically grown;
at least 10% of the ingredients are organic.
NO parabens, NO GMOs, NO silicone, NO paraffin, NO nanoparticles.

Whenever possbile, SO’BiO étic® has chosen to exceed the requirements of the Cosmébio charter with regard to organic ingredient content percentages.

On February 15, WECF published a survey on 341 baby products (less than 3 years old) that are largely distributed through all channels in France.

This report shows that there are too many ingredients of concern in baby care products.

Our SO’BiO étic® Baby brand contains none of the high risk ingredients identified in the WECF survey.

They contain none of the “high”, “moderate” or even “low” risk ingredients and are further guaranteed to be free of: MIT/MCIT, phenoxyethanol, fragrances containing disclosable allergens, mineral oils, sulfates, EDTA, nanoparticles, parabens and BHT.

Since our company’s foundation in 1993, we have been committed to the prevention of cruelty to animals. Our products are never tested on animals. In fact, we were one of the first companies to exclude the use of any raw materials tested on animals well before the ban was enforced in 2009.

We have been exporting some SO’BiO étic® and Lift’Argan products to China since 2012.

While China prohibited animal testing in 2014 for cosmetics that are produced in the country, randon and non systematic testing may be carried out on animals for products that are imported or distributed through physical points of sale within China.

We have not been able to obtain proof from Chinese government authorities that allow us to determine with certitude that our products have not been tested on animals.  Therefore, we completely stopped registering new products in October 2015 as a precautionary measure, and we will not resume registration of Léa Nature Products on the Chinese market until we obtain a formal guarantee that our products are not tested on animals.  These products are available in China through online sales, which do not require any registration, ensuring none of these products are tested on animals.

Léa Nature cosmetics are not made in China.  All of our skin and personal care products are manufactured at our headquarters near La Rochelle.  Only those few products for which we do not have the specific production lines, such as make up cases, soaps, and home fragrances are provided by partnering French or European manufacturers.

Our SO’BiO étic® Natural’ nail polishes contain 83 to 89% natural ingredients from bio-sourced raw materials. Our formula excludes 7 of the commonly used components found in conventional nail polish (NO parabens, formaldehyde, phtalates, toluene, xylene, synthetic camphor, or colophony) and are therefore the most natural available on the market, offering a genuine alternative to these strong chemicals.

We are not able to obtain certification on these nail polishes for the time being in terms of the quality criteria required, but we are working on this point.
