The orange tree (citrus aurantium) is a shrub for Northeast India and South China.  It is also known as bigarade orange and it is commonly grown in the United States and throughout the mediterranean region.  This tree can reach of to 5 meters and has fragrant white flowers.  It is cultivated for the essential oils that can be extracted from the flowers, leaves and fruit of this tree.

A Plant with Multiple Virtues

Traditionally used for their medicinal virtues, dried orange flowers are mixed with tea leaves and consumed as an infusion in Asia.

Orange Flower Water

Orange flower water is obtained by distillation.  It is known for its emollient, hydrating, refreshing, astringent and soothing virtues.
